Meet The Owner

Travis Nicolette is the owner of ProLift Garage Doors of Charleston and specializes in residential and commercial garage door repair and installation. ProLift serves the Charleston metro area and prioritizes client experience, quality workmanship, and unmatched value. A Mount Pleasant native, Travis graduated from Wando High School in 1999 and then received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Clemson University in 2003. He worked for Verizon for 13 years in numerous sales and leadership roles and completed his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Carolina University in 2011.

In addition to his entrepreneurial spirit, Travis has a passion for helping others and joined the MPCC Philanthropy Committee in an effort to positively impact his community. With the help of the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, the Philanthropy Committee was able to successfully complete numerous initiatives in 2021. These included: The Joe Brinson Scholarship donation, Journey Bag collection and donation for displaced children via Charleston County Social Services, CostCo Mt. Pleasant sponsored holiday meal and grocery delivery for 89 local families, and a donation of 2000 holiday greeting cards filled out by local school children to the Red Cross for military member disbursement.

Travis lives in Mt. Pleasant with his wife, Liz, who is a financial planner, and his two young children, Theo and Elia. Travis enjoys spending time with his family doing outdoor coastal activities, Crossfit, and Clemson Football. Prior to children, he enjoyed movies and traveling.

ProLift Garage Doors of Charleston is a national franchise and was established in 2020.

“We specialize in residential garage door repair and installation. Repairs can range from annual maintenance and spring replacement to garage system overhauls that replace every component. We also install standard garage doors for clients who are budget focused while offering custom solutions that significantly increase curb appeal, natural garage light, and energy efficiency.”

Customer satisfaction is the number one priority at ProLift, and the proof is in their repeat and referral business.  “Our clients have really enjoyed our communication, fairness, and work quality, and they tell us so via online reviews. These have gone a long way in creating confidence in the market that although we are newer, we are the best choice in Charleston for all of your garage door needs. Things don’t always go as planned, but we always do the right thing to help remedy issues. Plus, we never sell our clients things they don’t need, so they reuse and refer us with confidence.”

Whether it’s just something that needs to be fixed or a brand new garage door, Travis and his team stand behind their work and will stop at nothing until the client is happy with the work they have done. “I come from a client experience background, so I enjoy finding creative solutions to problems that ‘wow’ people. When we are able to deliver on that, it makes me feel like we are doing more than just fixing garages.” ProLift of Charleston also uses the hashtag #proliftyourday when doing something special for their clients and vendors in hopes it will inspire others to “Pay it forward”.

Travis is not at this alone, however. His team is made up of some of the best this area has to offer. General manager Nate Spann has over 15 years of experience, and their team of expert technicians ensures all work is done properly, timely, and with the clients’ best interests at heart.

“At ProLift, we prioritize client experience above everything else. We know that when we treat our customers and employees like we want to be treated, success and growth will follow. We aim to exceed expectations while offering unmatched value, plus we love to give back to the community in fun ways.”

Speaking of giving back to the community, Travis and his team do tons of volunteer work to help the community in every way possible.  Participating in Kids Lift, a food drive to benefit children at the Jane Edwards Elementary school, gives kids backpacks full of food to take home on the weekends. ProLift also donated $300 worth of items for “Journey Bags” that the Charleston County DSS gives to children that are in the extremely difficult transition into the foster care system. These efforts show just how much Travis and his team go above and beyond for our area’s most vulnerable population, our children.
