As a residential garage door technician, you will travel in a company work truck to the customer’s home to diagnose their garage door issue, build and present a quote to repair or replace the door, and either repair the door during that visit or return later and replace the door. Technicians must manage the truck, its inventory as well as their schedule and client communications.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • HS or Equivalent
  • Mechanical and hand-tool experience
COMPETENCIES AND SKILL SET:
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Comfortable with face-to-face customer interaction
  • Charisma (have a personality!)
  • Solid listening skills (you will not disappear if you stop talking)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and think independently

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Install or repair garage doors and openers and associated components.
  • Utilize invoicing and estimate software on mobile device to maximize communication.
  • Follow service call and install processes to ensure the highest quality output.
  • Responsible for safe driving of company vehicles.
  • Responsible for safe work site, equipment, and truck.
  • Assist in customer service issues.
  • Reviews work orders for accuracy and completeness before departing to job site.
  • Other duties as assigned.
OTHER:
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule – On call bonuses available
  • Clean criminal background.
SALARY AND PERKS:
  • Pay based on performance/volume. The more you repair and install, the more you make, so compensation is uncapped.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires frequently: Standing, lifting of 50 lbs., Carrying 50 lbs., walking, pushing, stooping, climbing, bending, crouching, crawling, reaching above and below shoulder level; full use of hands, good finger dexterity, lifting from floor to waist and twisting of torso. Also includes working in cramped garages, on ladders, and with power tools and perform manual labor in outside environment, exposed to heat, sun, high humidity, rain and other adverse weather conditions.

Job Description
ProLift Garage Doors seeks an experienced Garage Door Technician to perform service and repairs for the greater Mount Pleasant, SC area. If you have prior experience working as a garage repair technician (residential or commercial) or have experience from a comparable position, please apply.

As a garage door technician at ProLift, you will travel in a company work truck to the customer’s home to diagnose their garage door issues. You will then build and present a quote to repair their door during that appointment, or share a quote to replace their garage door as needed. Technicians must manage the truck and its inventory as well as their schedule and client communications.

Responsibilities:
  • Repair various types of garage doors and openers
  • Products, buildings and applications differ case by case; the candidate must be able to choose best solutions for each application as it pertains to safety, functionality and performance
  • The Repair Technician will also troubleshoot, repair and perform periodic maintenance on new and existing equipment
  • Assist with garage door installs as needed
Requirements:
  • Previous experience servicing/installing garage doors – knowledge of the principles, techniques, equipment and supplies used in the residential garage door service
  • Mechanical aptitude, hand tool experience, and able to read and understand instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with  team-mates and clients
  • Clear communicator, charismatic, and comfortable in face-to-face client interactions
  • Team player; strong collaboration skills and listening skills
  • Be a self-starter with the ability to operate without direct supervision at all times
  • Ability to troubleshoot, think independently, and problem-solve
  • Organized and methodical work ethic
  • Basic math and legible handwriting
  • Punctual and excellent attendance record
Experience:
  • Residential Garage Door Installation/Repairs: Minimum 1 year (Required)
  • Commercial Garage Door Installation/Repairs experience (Preferred, but not required)

ProLift Garage Doors of Charleston seeks an experienced Garage Door Installer to perform installations and repairs for the greater Mount Pleasant, SC area. If you have prior experience working as a residential installer and seek a full-time position, please apply. Responsibilities:
  • Install various types of residential garage doors including retrofit and new construction.
  • Products, buildings and applications differ case by case; the candidate must be able to complete installation professionally as it pertains to safety, functionality and performance working within the guidelines of the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
Skills Required:
  • Previous experience servicing/installing garage doors – knowledge of the principles, techniques, equipment and supplies used in the residential garage door service
  • Mechanical aptitude – knowledge and skilled in using various hand and power tools
  • Able to learn client relationship, dispatching, and invoicing software
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and general public
  • Team player and a self-starter
  • Coachable with a strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and efficiently

  • Must have valid drivers’ license with clean driving record and be insurable
Education:
