Excellent Same-Day Service
"ProLift provided excellent same-day service. I discovered the issue around 7 a.m., called that morning, and had a technician at my house within a few hours. He was polite, clean, had a great attitude, and clearly explained the problem—broken springs on both sides—and my options.
I ultimately chose a complete conversion from the existing TorqueMaster system to a conventional torsion-spring system for $1,080. The price included a new torsion bar, torsion springs, end plates with bearings, center plate and bearing, drums, cables, and upgraded nylon ball-bearing rollers. The work also came with a 10-year parts warranty.
The only downside was pricing and pricing transparency. After the repair was complete, I compared similar conversions and pricing from other providers and came away feeling that ProLift charges a premium. That said, getting a technician to my house within hours and having everything completed the same day has real value and reasonably warrants some premium.
I typically comparison shop, but with my car trapped in the garage, that wasn't particularly practical. Desperate times call for desperate measures! In my opinion, businesses providing emergency-type services should offer an additional layer of upfront pricing transparency because customers in these situations may not have much opportunity to shop around.
One additional detail worth noting: although the 10-year warranty covers parts, it does not cover the labor to replace those parts. I don't recall that distinction being explained during the pre-work estimate, and I would have appreciated knowing it before authorizing the repair.
4 stars. My main suggestion for ProLift would be to publish approximate price ranges for common repairs and conversions online or provide ballpark ranges when customers call. That would be particularly helpful for price-conscious customers like me.
Overall, I had a positive experience and would recommend ProLift for their responsiveness, professionalism, and quality of service—just be aware that you may be paying a premium for that speed and convenience."
